Sharmila is delighted to have recently completed her Master’s in Aging and Health through Queen’s University. She is the Director of Innova Health Clinic and Education, the founder of Barbelle Studio, and she has over 25 years experience working in the fields of health and wellness.
She started her career as a fitness instructor working first in Hamilton, then in Montreal, and Amsterdam. She earned her Bachelors of Arts from McGill University in History and Italian Literature (1994). She went on to earn her Bachelors of Health Science Physiotherapy from the renowned McMaster University School of Rehabilitation Science in 1999 and the same year joined her parents in the Upper Ottawa Physiotherapy family clinic.
In 2010, Sharmila embarked on a new path earning her Master in Osteopathic Manipulative Science (2014), a Classical Osteopathic diploma at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy & Holistic Health Sciences. With the vigor and enthusiasm that comes with new knowledge, she now uses the principles of Osteopathy in all her treatments.
Sharmila balances her commitment to her career with her dedication to her family and her own personal growth. In her spare moments she enjoys travelling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
