Barbelle Studio (situated on the main floor of Innova Health Clinic) is a safe, supportive space dedicated to helping women+ of all ages experience the benefits of resistance training including increased strength, improved physical and mental health, and greater happiness!
Whether you're a new or an experienced lifter, Barbelle Studio can be your place. Our unique approach allows participants, at all levels, to workout in several different formats and with various levels of instruction. Barbelle instructors are onsite to make sure you maximize your time and optimize your workout. We’ve reviewed the latest scientific evidence and resistance training guidelines specifically for women, and will update our classes as the body of research grows.

Our WOW Classes have a maximum of six women+. We provide a safe and supportive space as part of our goal to BUILD STRENGTH AND COMMUNITY!
Classes include resistance exercises that target muscle strength, endurance, hypertrophy, and power. Classes are designed to work for beginners to experienced lifters, with exercise parameters like load and intensity tailored to your level to ensure safe and effective lifting. Every class in a given week is the same workout, so you can choose the timing that best suits your schedule.
To participate in our WOW classes we always recommend you start with a Lifting Assessment & Plan.

Personal Lifting is a customized health and wellness service where an expert in exercise prescription and instruction works with you one-on-one to guide you towards your goals. Using the information detailed in your 2-part personal Lifting Assessment & Plan, our trainers will create engaging, effective, and safe programs. We will also keep you on track with honest feedback, sincere encouragement, and ongoing reassessment.

Sharmila Kulkarni
Sharmila is returning to her roots with Barbelle Studio. She started her career in health and wellness as a fitness instructor working first in Hamilton, then in Montreal, and Amsterdam. As a Physiotherapist and Osteopathic Manual Practitioner, Sharmila has a deep love for movement and is very excited to share her knowledge with this community.
Pierre Londono
Pierre has spent many years exploring different types of movement practice. He taught Yoga and was an avid CrossFit Practitioner for many years. He enjoys taking time learning how to optimize his health and now uses that knowledge as a way to contribute to, and connect with his community.
